In the 1980’s, Joe Gutheinz, now a partner in the Gutheinz Law Firm, worked for the United States Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General as a Special Agent; in that capacity he had over two dozen successful cases against pilots who falsified their FAA Form 8500-8 Airman Medical Applications, a felony offense, for concealing past alcohol and drug-related offenses. In the 1990’s while serving as a Special Agent with NASA’s Office of Inspector General Joe Gutheinz was assigned a major case regarding the use of drugs at a NASA high security facility. In a three-day period he secured 13 confessions from individuals admitting to the use of numerous illegal drugs. As a college instructor he has taught numerous classes on drug abuse and as an attorney he has defended numerous people for a variety of drug-related crimes.

Michael Gutheinz, a partner with the Gutheinz Law Firm is a former Army prosecutor who now teaches criminal law and procedure at college.
